Pii Aye Kwo | Water Is Life
PAK4Humanity
There Is No Life Without Water
THE GENESIS
our story
Our journey began in 2019 when our Executive Director, Shannon Forrester, embarked on a transformative trip to Uganda with her sons Samuel and Logan. Having spent time in one village without access to safe drinking water, they witnessed first-hand the pivotal role water plays in the improvement of human life by preventing disease, keeping children in school, and alleviating myriad other challenges faced by these communities. This experience ignited a vision—a belief that access to clean water could be the catalyst for eradicating poverty and fostering sustainable change.
Motivated by this conviction, PAK4Humanity was born. The name embodies our core belief, derived from the Lango language, PAK is an acronym for"Pii Aye Kwo," translating to "Water Is Life" in English. This encapsulates our unwavering commitment to providing essential water resources to communities in need, as we firmly believe that water is the foundation upon which prosperity, health, and progress thrive. We provide access to clean water and provide education that empowers communities, improves public health, and creates sustainable livelihoods. Further, we provide gender equality and empowerment of women and girls to become agents of change in their communities. We contribute toward a more equitable and sustainable future for Northern Uganda.
Join us in our pursuit to transform lives through the gift of clean water. Together, we can build a future where every individual has access to this fundamental resource, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.
